Malinowski, 62, of Union Dale died Wednesday at Penn-Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia. Her husband of 41 years is Joseph Malinowski. A native of Forest City, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Kniss Petraitis. She was a graduate of Forest City High School. She was employed by the Beacon Restaurant, Union Dale and DG’s Tavern, Forest City. She was also an aid for Step-By-Step. Jean was a member of the Forest City Parks & Recreation Committee. She was a loving and fun wife and mother with and infectious laugh. Jean was an accomplished cook and enjoyed a glass of wine, golfing, trips to the beach and her animals. Jean is survived by two sons, Seth Malinowski and fiancée Sharon Leonard, Titusville, FL., Adam Malinowski, Union Dale, a grandson Issac, a sister, Marge Wildenstein, and husband George, Pleasant Mount, a brother, John Petraitis and wife Connie, Honesdale, “her girls” Missy and Lisa and additional nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Her Life is planned for a future date. Cremation arrangements are by the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., Simpson.
