Joseph E. Wallis, Jr., 92, of Fell Township died Tuesday at home. His wife, the former Rachel Horne died in 2003.

Born in Carbondale and raised in the Crystal Lake area of Fell Township, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Gladys Mae Cosklo Wallis, Sr.  He was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson and served in the Navy during the Korean War.

Joe was employed by Pennsylvania Department of General Services as an electrical inspector. He was also the C.E.O. of Wallis Generators.  Joe was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Carbondale where he served on the following committees, Stained Glass Window, Pastor Parish Relations, Property and Administrative and was also a Trustee.

He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Gary Wallis, Jeffrey Wallis and Susan, Randy Wallis and Lynn and Debra James and Robert, seven grandchildren, Jim, Ashley, Josh, Chelsea, Emily, Megan and Danielle, seven  great grandchildren, Grayson, Chloe, Jameson, Maxen, Levi, Xander, Willow and nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronnie, a granddaughter, Barbara Chirles and a brother, George Wallis.

The funeral will be Saturday, April 20th at 12:00 PM in the Carbondale First United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St., Carbondale with service by the Rev. Andrew Repenning, Pastor. Interment with military honors will be in Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.

Family and friends may visit at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
