Marion A. Swencki, 73, of Georgetown, DE and formerly of Lake Ariel fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, June 30th. Her husband of 50 years is the Rev. Dennis Swencki.

Born in Staten Island, NY, daughter of the late Norvel and Adele Simonson Osborn.  She attended public school and was a graduate of Bryn Mawr Nursing School. She was a registered nurse and the Nursing Home Administrator of Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart prior to retirement. Marion was known for her warmhearted and charitable disposition. Marion recognized the extensive need for care of elderly in Wayne County and played a very instrumental role in the development and growth of the organization.

It is impossible to quantify the number of lives Marion positively impacted through her 73 years including complete strangers, friends, family and her enormous extended family. Her passion in life was caring for others. She was a mom and sister to all. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed.  Anyone who knew her is a better person because of it.

Marion is survived by her three children, Melanie Swencki, Georgetown, DE, Stephen and wife Kelly, Bear Creek Village, PA, and Alexis Swencki, Philadelphia, PA, two brothers Norvel and Butch Osborn and a sister, Robin Osborn, nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by a sister, Norvella (Baby Joe) Osborn.

Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Tikhon of Zadnosk Monastery Church, 175 St. Tikhon’s Road, Waymart, PA. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM and be conducted by Archbishop Michael of the Orthodox Church of America. Interment will follow in St. Tikhon’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the family: 24569 Beaver Way, Georgetown, DE. 19947.
