On Saturday, February 10, 2024, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, Mary Jane (Schermerhorn) Hannon,  was greeted into the gates of Heaven by her Lord and Savior.

Mary was born on February 11, 1950 in Carbondale, PA. She was the daughter of the late Eleanor Rude.

After graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1968, Mary pursued her career in nursing. Throughout her career she worked in several health care facilities including Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale General Hospital, as well as private entities, finishing with her service on the board at Berean Baptist Church as the Financial Secretary.

She was a devout,  life long member of the Berean Baptist Church. She loved to share her passion of crocheting, baking, and singing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Edward Hannon; daughters, Jill Linko and her husband Gregory, Amy Schermerhorn and Laura Knapp and her husband Gary; step-daughter, Tammy Fuller and her husband, Christal;  grandchildren, Zachariah, Bethany and Lyndsay Grace, Sarah Linko, Alexander and Emanuel Doblado, Tiera Knapp and Robbie Lettsome; great grandchildren, Oliver James and Adeline Martin; twin sister, Ann Case; nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Mary was predeceased by her late husband,  William J. Schermerhorn and step-son, Edward D. Hannon.

Friends are invited to call at the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home Inc, 621 Main Street, Simpson, PA on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held 11 am on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Berean Baptist Church,33 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale, PA with a blessing by Rev. Deborah Loessy.

Interment will be at the Clinton Center Cemetery, Waymart ,at a later date
