Obituaries » Mary (Pavelchak) Okorn August 28, 1923 - July 1, 2017 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Mary (Pavelchak) Okorn, 93, of Simpson died Saturday at the Carbondale Nursing Center. She was the widow of John Okorn who died in 2009. Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Anastasia Scuba Pavelchak. She was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson. Mary had been employed by Gentex Corp., Simpson. She was a member and active parishioner of St. Basil’s Orthodox Church of America. She was a generous woman whose generosity was known in the community. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by five brothers, Theodore, Basil, John, Joseph and Peter and a sister Anna. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 A.M. in St. Basil’s Orthodox Church in America, 9 Lord Avenue, Simpson with service by the V. Rev. Gerald Sudick. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Simpson. Friends may call Sunday at the church from 3 to 6 P.M. and a Panikhida service will be at 6 P.M.
