Cemetery Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Mary Theresa “Tess” Garbera, 76, of Milford died Friday at the home she shared with her longtime partner, John Waycie after a brief illness. She was the widow of Michael Garbera, who died in 2004. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late John and Anastasia Newcomb Gallas. Mary was a 1964 graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale. She was employed prior to retirement as a Quality Control Inspector at Lockheed Martin Corp., Eynon. Mary loved spending time with family and friends, and she enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and warm weather destinations. She was an avid reader and if you knew her, you knew of her love for monkeys and a good Old Fashioned. She is survived by a daughter Kim Garbera, Brookhaven, PA., a brother John Gallas and wife Laurie, Carbondale, nephew Ben Tolerico and wife Nicole, Elmhurst, PA, and nephew JR Gallas and wife Jean, Mt. Joy PA. Mary was preceded in death by her son Keith Garbera and a sister, Ann Tolerico. The funeral will be Wednesday from the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc. 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Entombment will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM.
