Ronald “Tooker” Rupp, 73, of Jermyn died Monday at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton. His wife of 44 years is the former Mary Rocuba.

Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late Joseph & Sophie Kozera Rupp. He was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson and served in the Army with The Joint Security Area Forces in Korea.   Ron was employed by Ron Franks Builders, Simpson and retired from Marywood University, Dunmore.

He was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, Jermyn, American Legion Post #610, Mayfield and enjoyed hours of crossword puzzles and telling jokes.

He is also survived by a son Randall Rupp and wife Jennifer, Windsor, VT, a daughter Lisa and husband Matthew Houllier, Middletown, CT, 2 granddaughters, Elliot and Audrey Rupp, a sister, Helen and husband Edward Plevyak, Baltimore, MD, two brothers, Anthony Rupp and wife Rita, Simpson and Richard Rupp and wife Maeve, Clifford, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Stanley Rupp, and three sisters, Evelyn Banko, Rosemary Rupp and Bernice Scotchlas.,

The funeral will be Saturday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc 621 Main St, Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church,  624 Madison Ave, Jermyn by the Rev. Shane Kirby.  Interment will be in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 PM.  Friends attending the funeral are asked to proceed directly to the church.
