Thomas A. Dragwa, 82, of Carbondale passed September 22nd 2021. He and his wife, the former Patricia McGee were married for 57 amazing years.

Born in Simpson, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Howanitz Dragwa. Thomas was a graduate of Fell High School and served in the Army.  Later, he retired from Farview State Hospital, Waymart. In summertime he ran the family business the Tastee Freeze and flower shop .  He was also know as “Mr McGee” when he drove the ice cream truck around town.

Tom was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish and president of the former American Legion Post #692, Simpson. He was an avid New York Yankee fan.

Tom is survived by his four children and their spouses; Dawn Marie and Stephanie Zendegui, Wesley Chapel Fl, Tom and Jackie Dragwa, Carbondale, Daniel and Cathy Dragwa, Mayfield, and Diane and Keith Brawner, Wesley Chapel. Nine grandchildren; Thomas Tolerico, Nicholas, Nichole, Nathalie, Danny, and David Dragwa, Alex Zendegui, Kaitlyn Brawner, and Austin Zendegui. Six siblings; Joseph and Marie Dragwa, Simpson, Pricilla Zrowka, Centerville, Va, Robert and Irene Dragwa, Simpson, Carl and Barbra Dragwa, Salisbury, MD, Richard Dragwa, Forest City and Leonard Dragwa, Scranton. He also has several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Warhola and a brother, Kenneth.

The funeral will be Thursday, September 30th  from the  Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc. 621 Main Street Simpson with a mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale PA. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp., Pa.

Friends may call on Wednesday,  September 29th from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allied Service Hospice Center, 511 Morgan Highway  ,Scranton, Pa 18508
