Fifty-five years ago, I met Lee at Pope AFB in N. Carolina. We roomed together in the barracks along with Mike Skunza. Lee and were in a tactical airlift squadron and traveled all over the world together on our own squadron C-130 aircraft. I remember going to England twice for sixty-day tidy's then on to Japan and Viet Nam in 1968 my first trip of two. Everywhere we went it was a good. We were both nineteen and twenty years old and up for anything. Unfortunately, after discharge we went our separate ways and were out of touch for nearly thirty years. That is up until I decided to go back and find several of my old air force buds in the early 2000"s. Once reconnected, it was like we never were apart. Lee is a year older than me and has always been my big brother. I will sorely miss our sometimes-hour-long telephone conversations on, of course, political subjects and many other things. I loved him and will miss him dearly. Rest in peace my brother................Brother Phil
